January 20: more notes, and another new document as I assemble everything relevant to the villain of the piece and try to pin down what he's doing in general and how this conversation I need him to have actually goes. Ofc if I could figure out his actual plans that would make fixing the back half of the novel much easier! I have vague ideas but the most definite is "not what he did in the very first draft". Maybe I need to do some freeform character sketches or something.
