I definitely didn't introduce coffeehouse ex-pirate-captain Vane to state criminal investigator Flint today, nor did I make Jack Rackham the bad guy. That would be silly. ;-) And I definitely didn't do all of this in 1123 words. Nope.

Day 12: Some editing. + 88 words on a different story.

January 12: Pushing forward with the scene, added at least 300 new words, definitely more but again, pulling bits from previous versions as I go. At a point where I have to figure out whether to let things wind to a stop or move to a different topic of conversation. Conversation has to be had, the question is does it have to be had *now* or is that too much at once.

I realized today that I've given myself a more challenging structure than I thought at first, an unreliable narrator, which I've never done before. It won't be the story in my head (what ever is) but I think it will be okay.
