Days 2-4 have been about trying to reduce my workload and feel a little bit less panicked about getting everything done on time, which seems to be working okay, but I want more progress.

For the 4th: I did some brainstorming for my femslashex assignment, and then wrote around 300 words on a random thing that may or may not end up going anywhere. I haven't decided yet what I'm tackling next, so I guess that's what I'm doing tomorrow!

I added one sentence to my mlbigbang and then I decided it's time to put the outline in a straight line on the page

…the outline is 2.8K all by itself

I know this is a Big Bang but it's a 10K minimum bang and I thought I was writing a 10-15K fic! I am not sure of that anymore

Day 4: I aimed for an alibi sentence but managed a few paragraphs for 152 words.

Oct 4: Spent AGES trying to get that last sentence right. I had a checklist of three things I wanted it to do, and just kept hammering away at it, element by element. But eventually! Hurrah! VICTORY WAS MINE!

It may only have been one sentence, but it was the exact opposite of an alibi sentence, if you know what I mean.

Day 4: I wasn't sure I'd be able to make time to write tonight but I found a few minutes to type up more of the longhand backlog.

Oct 4. Another paragraph of the porn story I shouldn't be writing, and a lot of heavy thinking about why the grimdark scene isn't working. I think I have overloaded my outline of the actual story with too much stuff that needs explaining in this crucial scene. A lot of it was darling ideas that I wanted to include somewhere. But looking at the whole story now after a couple of months, and it's more than 3/4 written already, I see I'm being hung up on trying to explain things that don't actually need to be explained, or probably don't even need to happen.

So, not many words, but some real progress anyway!

And for the story with the grimdark scene, remember that when your beta reader looks at it, they can point out things that need explanations. You can leave things by the wayside now and put them in later if necessary. Or you can save those ideas for something else.

4 Oct -- 200 words on Innumerable Stars. The piece is over minimum now. Also posted yesterdays drabble to Fan flashworks, and have realized it goes with the Balloon wip, though I'm not entirely sure how.
